In Confluence, content lives inside spaces, and every space has its own root page that serves as the top of that space’s hierarchy. When you restore a page from the Trash (or recover deleted content), it’s placed back into the space’s structure starting at the root level. This keeps restored content contained within the specific space and makes it easy to move or reparent if needed. It isn’t restored to the global site root, nor to the homepage or to the last edited page by default.
