Space keys are unique identifiers for each space, used in URLs and internal references. Because two spaces cannot share the same key, importing a space that already exists with that key would create a conflict, so the import isn’t allowed. The fact that you’re importing content via XML doesn’t change this rule—if you need to bring in that space, you’d import it into a new space with a different key (or rename/delete the existing space’s key first, if appropriate).
